Budini SS Receives ICT Equipment to Enhance Digital Learning Under USEEP

In a significant stride toward transforming education through technology, St. Gonzaga Budini Secondary School has officially received a consignment of ICT equipment under the Uganda Secondary Education Expansion Project (USEEP), a World Bank-supported initiative.

As one of the designated Cluster Centres for the implementation of USEEP, St. Gonzaga Budini SS plays a key role in leading digital integration in the teaching and learning process within the region. The delivery of the ICT gadgets marks a major milestone in the school’s journey toward modern, inclusive, and learner-centered education.

The equipment received includes projectors, laptops, and internet connectivity tools aimed at strengthening the use of ICT in both classroom instruction and school administration. This investment supports the broader national goal of preparing learners for the 21st-century workforce and improving education quality through technology.

Speaking during the handover, the headteacher of St. Gonzaga Budini SS, Bro. Nalintya Simon Peter expressed gratitude to the Government of Uganda and the World Bank for their continued support:

“The arrival of this equipment is a game changer. Our teachers are ready and excited to integrate technology into their lessons, and our students now have greater access to digital resources that enhance their learning. This is a great opportunity for our school and surrounding community to benefit.” He noted

The ICT integration component under USEEP focuses on empowering teachers with digital tools and training, improving access to educational content, and fostering digital literacy among students. St. Gonzaga Budini SS has already begun planning training sessions for staff to ensure effective use of the new gadgets in lesson delivery.

The school’s status as a Cluster Centre means it will also support neighboring schools in adopting ICT-based teaching practices, positioning it as a regional hub for educational innovaAs Uganda continues to prioritize digital transformation in education, this initiative is a testament to the government’s commitment to equitable access, quality learning, and sustainable development through technology.

About USEEP

The Uganda Secondary Education Expansion Project (USEEP) is a World Bank-funded program aimed at increasing access to lower secondary education and enhancing the quality of education through infrastructure development, ICT integration, and teacher support in Uganda.

The project is being implemented in 100 centres spread across the country. The Cluster Centre Coordinator Mr. Nkoko Rogers said that whereas the original project timeframe was up to the end of this year, Government of Uganda and the schools will continue to see that he project goals are achieved sustainably.
